    Iraq mulls over allowing imports of Russia's wheat

    (MENAFN) Iraq was confirmed to be mulling over a plan to authorize the imports of Russian wheat in its state acquisition purchase.

    Russia could receive Iraqi Trade ministry representatives for the assessment of the quality of Russian wheat, seeking to determine whether it first the country's food rationing plan.

    In a statement, Trade Minister Mohammed Hashim Al-Aani announced: "the ministry will send a delegation to Russia to study the mechanisms of wheat production."

    Al-Aani added that the move aims "to paint a picture of its quality and types and how suitable it is for use within the subsidy card system."
