    Iran, Iraq to hit USD20b in trade

    (MENAFN) The annual bilateral trade between Iran and Iraq is expected to reach USD20 billion this year, announced Iran's President Hassan Rouhani.

    The figure comes in comparison to the USD12 billion of bilateral trade currently reached between the two countries.

    The statement was made by the Iranian president during a press conference with Iraqi Iraqi President Barham Salih, as reported state television.

    Rouhani stated: "today, the economic relations between the two countries reach about $12 billion (per year) and, through bilateral efforts, we can raise this figure to $20 billion."

    The two leaders, during their meeting, addressed cooperation on electricity and gas, along with petroleum goods with oilfield exploration and extraction.
