Algeria submits request to enter EU power market
(MENAFN) Algeria was unveiled to be targeting Europe as an energy market before it launches the export of its electricity surplus, which is produced from solar energy.
Algeria made an official appeal for the matter, as announced Algerian Energy Minister Mustapha Guitouni during a news conference in Algiers.
The news conference was jointly made with Miguel Arias Canete, European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy, by the conclusion of the 3rd EU-Algeria political talks on energy.
The minister further revealed Algeria to be in talks with member countries of the European Union for gas export agreements to be renewed.
Guitouni added that his country already finalized the extension of several gas related agreements secured with Spain.
