    Tunisia, France ink USD136m energy pact

    (MENAFN) Tunisia inked a USD136 million agreement with France on strengthening cooperation in the field of electricity along with its distribution.

    Tunisian Minister of Investment, Development and International Cooperation, Zied Laadhari penned the cooperation pact with Director of French Agency for Development, Gilles Chausse.

    The Tunisian minister explained that "the project aims at enhancing energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions by 41 percent by 2030."

    Laadhari then assured that "Tunisia is moving towards the alternative of renewable energies. We welcome the excellent cooperation between Tunisia and France, especially with French Agency for Development, main partner of Tunisia."
