Turkey forecast to hit 8GW wind energy capacity

(MENAFN) Turkey is forecast to see a significant increase in the capacity of its wind energy this year, expected to hit 8 gigawatts (GW) with an extra 600 MW.

The projection was made by head of Turkish Wind Energy Association (TUREB) Mustafa Serdar Ataseven during an interview with Anadolu Agency.

Turkey raised the capacity of its wind energy in 2018, the TUREB chief noted, even though the country has been suffering from financial challenges.

Ataseven further added that the country has the potential to see further boosts in its installed wind energy this year.
