Jordan slaps Turkish products with customs tariffs

(MENAFN) Jordan slapped Turkish products with tariffs following an extension of the free trade agreement (FTA) between the two countries.

The Jordanian Customs Department announced a decision to enact 15-30 percent customs tariffs on some of products from Turkey.

It comes after Jordan witnessed a 15 percent drop in its exports to Turkey from January to October 2018, standing at USD72 million from USD85 million in the previous year.

The government of the Kingdom unveiled that the deal with Turkey has been suspended on November 22nd, giving traders with a deadline until last year's end to dispose their imported goods.
