Iran targets boost in nuclear industry

(MENAFN) Iran is targeting the acceleration of uranium by 20 percent, aiming to generate fuel for its nuclear reactor.

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi announced the target, as reported Tasnim News Agency.

The nuclear chief confirmed that "taking initial measures to design the modern fuel (enriched to) 20 percent has begun."

Salehi added: "in the nuclear science and industry, we have made so much progress that we can design modern fuel ourselves instead of reverse engineering and using others' designs, which is a great achievement for the country."

Iran's reactor efficiency, according to the chief, will be significantly improved through modern fuel as it steers clear of old fuel.
