    Israel forms environmental plans USD1.14m fund

    (MENAFN) Israel announced the formation of an USD1.14 million fund aimed at helping environmental initiatives within developing nations.

    Israel's ministries of finance, environmental protection and economy created the fund along with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

    According to the Israeli Ministry of Finance, the purpose behind setting up the fund was to back environmental projects which include water, energy and climate change.

    The supported environmental projects will be in countries where the EBRD is operative, such as Central and Eastern Europe, and Central Asia.

    The fund was assured to be offering technical equipment to back the projects, covering feasibility studies, engineering and legal opinions and professional advice.
