    Egypt marks highest foreign currency reserves at USD42.6b

    (MENAFN) Egypt recorded a boost in its foreign currency reserves by the end of last year, standing at USD42.6 billion to mark the highest rate in years.

    Egypt's foreign currency reserves stood at USD37 billion in 2017, USD24.3 billion in 2016, and USD16.4 billion in 2015, an indication of a constant and healthy surge.

    By last year's end, current foreign currency reserves will include 7.7 months for imports, an increase compared to 7 months seen in 2017 and 4.9 months witnessed in 2016.

    Meanwhile, the country posted a jump in banks deposits late October of last year to register USD206.82 billion.
