Algeria's Sonatrach, CHEC sign USD445m pact for port installations

(MENAFN) Algeria's oil giant Sonatrach and China Harbor Engineering Company (CHEC) inked a USD445 million agreement for port installations to be carried out in east Algeria.

CHEC is to offer assessments for liquefied gas along with establishing a terminal for it under the deal penned in Algiers.

As per the pact, CHEC will also be setting up marine and harbor infrastructure for a fuel terminal to be constructed in Skikda province.

The 28-months initiative will be enabling the development of the liquefied natural gas, making it generate 220,000 cubic meters per day while allowing it to load methane tankers at 50,000-250,000 tons.
