Turkey to receive USD1.14b EBRD investments

(MENAFN) Turkey is set to received throughout this year USD1.14 billion of investment from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

"2018 has been a challenging year, a year of geopolitical tensions, economic slowdown, dramatic currency depreciation, waning investor sentiment, but the EBRD maintained a strong commitment to the Turkish economy," stated EBRD managing director Arvid Tuerkner while speaking to Anadolu Agency.

"The Bank invested 1 billion euro in 34 projects in Turkey in 2018...as for 2019 we aim to maintain the same level of investment...about a billion euros," the managing director further told the Turkish news agency.

Tuerkner further added that the bank is looking to boost its backing for the Turkish currency financing, increasing it to hit a third of its total investment to the country.
