Syria, Iran to strengthen economic ties
(MENAFN) Iran and Syria affirmed their commitment to strengthen and expand their bilateral relations and cooperation in a number of areas.
Such a dedication is indicated in a 2015 deal inked between Iran and Syria on agriculture, oil and telecommunications sectors.
The statement was made during the preparatory technical meetings of the Syrian-Iranian Joint High Committee which was launched in Damascus.
Iranian Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development Amir Amini also expressed wishes for new deals to be achieved during the meeting between both countries.
Syria is keen on achieving deeper economic ties with Iran, affirmed Assistant of the Head of the Planning and International Cooperation Authority, Thoraya Idlbi.
