    Egypt, France ink 40 agreements at USD1.8b

    (MENAFN) Egypt was unveiled to have inked forty deals with France on various areas, including infrastructure plans for the new administrative capital, electric car production, education, economic and social growth, healthcare, culture, women empowerment and energy.

    Valued at USD1.8 billion, the agreements were signed in Egypt during a visit French President Emmanuel Macron made to the country.

    During the visit, the French president further vowed for more USD1.1 billion to be invested in financial support to Egypt in the next four years.

    Macron emphasized: "I urged the French businessmen to take opportunities in Egypt."

    According to economic professor Rashad Abdo, "Macron's first visit to Egypt will propel the joint relations forward particularly in economic vistas including investments and trade as well as the political and military fields."
