Turkey-Serbia trade sought at USD2b: minister

(MENAFN) Turkey was urged with Serbia to boost the volume of their bilateral trade soon and start targeting USD2 billion.

Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoglu made the call, noting that Turkish-Serbian trade recorded more than USD1 billion back in 2017.

"As our presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan [of Turkey] and Aleksandar Vucic [of Serbia] agreed, our aim should be increasing the bilateral trade volume between Turkey and Serbia to a level of $2 billion as soon as possible," the minister stressed.

Both Turkey and Serbia, the minister affirmed, are ahead of a significant opportunity to strengthen their ties in economy and trade.

"Serbia is a valued friend of our country and a partner with whom we have strong cooperation for improving prosperity and stability in the Balkans," Kasapoglu added.
