    Tunisia seeks civil servants reductions amid institutions losses

    (MENAFN) Tunisian state institutions were reported to have suffered as much as USD2.2 billion of losses, pushing the government to reduce civil servants.

    Aiming to cut the number of civil servants to stand at about 500,000, the Tunisian government suggested around 120,000 workers to start stepping down deliberately by 2020.

    The financial condition seen in Tunisia must be strengthened in order for the budget deficit to be tackled, affirmed financial affairs expert Jamal al-Sassi.

    It comes while official statistics unveiled financial obstacles to be tormenting around 37 out of 107 state institutions.
