Jordan, EIB pen loan deal for water systems, sewage network

(MENAFN) Jordan penned alongside the European Investment Bank (EIB) a loan deal of around USD73 million for water supply systems in Deir Alla and Al-Karamah districts to be strengthened.

Under the agreement, Jordan will receive help in its establishment of a centralized sewage collection and treatment network in Deir Alla.

It comes as the EIB decided to extend loans and grants valued at USD990 million for the Jordanian infrastructure and development between this year and the next.

EIB President Werner Hoyer stated "we must help public investment but also focus primarily on private financing ... We have more projects in the pipeline that will more than double our investment in the country over the next two years to over 1 billion dollars."
