Jordan to receive USD334m Saudi support
(MENAFN) Jordan was confirmed to be receiving USD334 million in deposits from Saudi Arabia in support of its economic reforms.
Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed al-Jadaan affirmed "we have agreed to support Jordan through the Arab Monetary Fund and we are studying additional support with our brothers in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates."
It comes after Jordan, back in June last year, was granted a package of USD2.5 billion from Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Kuwait for the Kingdom to strengthen its economy.
Al-Jadaan stated "we believe that Jordan is committed to its reform path. It has experienced major crises and we believe it deserves international support."
