Sudan lifts ban on bank property loans

(MENAFN) Sudanese banks are now able to tap into the African real estate sector following a ban removal on bank property loans to persons and firms that lasted for a period of five years.

Through revoking the ban, grant mortgages are now authorized to be conducted without the use of third party property agents or brokers.

Real Estate Commercial Bank of Sudan and other Sudanese commercial banks, following the decision, began providing housing plans.

Applicants are required to accept the fund at an interest rate of 20 percent to be property loan eligible along with a 15-20 percent down payment in advance.
