    Tunisia up 11 percent in trade deficit

    (MENAFN) Tunisia recorded an 11 percent boost in its trade deficit during the first two months of this year to stand at USD810.5 million.

    Tunisian National Statistics Institute unveiled the figure while announcing a surplus with Morocco, Libya and France.

    According to the statistical institute, Tunisia also registered relevant deficits in trade with Algeria, Turkey, Russia, Italy and China.

    In its report, the institute further declared a 16.7 percent boost in exports from Tunisia to account for USD2.54 billion in January and February.

    Meanwhile, imports to Tunisia marked a 15.3 percent jump to reach USD3.35 billion during the period, with imported goods mostly including raw materials and fuels.
