Oman's PDO to raise oil production

(MENAFN) Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) was confirmed to be aiming for an oil production boost from the current 610,170 barrel per day (bpd) to reach 670,000 bpd.

Oman's oil and natural gas producer generated 610,170 bpd last year to mark the highest rate since 2005, affirmed PDO Managing Director Raoul Restucci.

"Our approach has been simple - to stay the course in the face of oil price uncertainty and increase technical and operational scale challenge," the managing director revealed.

"The improvements highlighted the ongoing concerted effort across the company to enhance safety and operation excellence at the frontline," Restucci noted.

"This is achieved through better supervision, awareness, training, and continuous implementation of new technologies and program," he added.
