    Saudi Arabia targets 24 percent cuts in water consumption by 2020

    (MENAFN) Saudi Arabia is aiming for a 24 percent reduction in water usage in 2020, and a 43 percent cut over the next ten years under a national program aimed at rationalizing the use of water.

    Qatrah program is seeking to slash water consumption, efforts in line with plans of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture to achieve water sustainability.

    By 2020, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture is targeting 200 liters of daily per capita consumption compared to 263 liters being consumed.

    Meanwhile, the ministry is looking to reach the consumption of 150 liters of water per capita by 2030.
