    USD392m losses hit Iranian agriculture

    (MENAFN) Iran suffered USD392 million of losses in its agricultural sector after being struck with violent floods that damaged northern Iran along the Caspian Sea.

    Golestan province recorded USD260 million of losses in its agriculture due to the floods, with around 250,000 hectares of the agricultural lands ruined.

    Agriculture Ministry official Mohammad Mousavi confirmed that several cities in the province, including Bandar Turkman and Gomishan, witnessed complete destruction in their rapeseed and wheat.

    Mousavi further added that farming lands in Mazandaran province were slapped with USD132 million of losses.
