Lebanon, Italy to build oil, gas partnership
(MENAFN) Lebanon and Italy will be establishing stronger relations when it comes to the field of oil and gas as the Italian sides voiced interest in the matter.
Trade commissioner of the Italian Trade Agency in Beirut Francesca Zadro conveyed interest in cooperation while attending the 4th Lebanon International Oil and Gas Summit.
According to the official, "Italian companies are placing big hopes on Lebanon as a gate for exporting oil and gas to other countries."
Zadro noted "Lebanon is investing a lot in oil and gas exploration and in oil services as well and Italy can play a great role with Lebanon in this area."
Lebanon "will start the first well drilling in block 4 and then block 9 by the end of 2019," announced chairman of the Lebanese petroleum administration Walid Nasr.
