Iran eyes Iraq for stronger energy trade, transport relations
(MENAFN) Iran is seeking to strengthen its cooperation with Iraq, specifically in the field of energy trade and transportation.
This comes following talks between Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, as they shed light on executing already secured deals.
Rouhani affirmed that "the exports of electricity and gas will continue and we are ready to expand these agreements both with Iraq and other countries."
He further announced the likelihood of the launch of a plan to establish a railway connecting Iran and Iraq over the next months.
