MOD signs with Oman's Assarain Group joint venture agreement
(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Minerals Development Oman (MDO), the Sultanate's mining investment flagship, inked a joint project pact with Oman's Assarain Group for the joint growth of a new gabbro concession in Liwa.
The contracting occurred at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) at the margins of Oman Mining Expo, which opened on Monday in Oman's capital city Muscat.
Situated in Liwa in North Al Batinah Governorate, the Liwa gabbro venture covers an area of nearly 2 sq km.
The mineable amount of the venture is estimated at 211 million tons with a production of 5 million tons yearly. Gabbro is a material used in the building and construction sector.
