Sudanese economy likely to need China, IMF aid

(MENAFN) Sudan is expected to require assistance from China and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for its economy to be revived.

This comes as the Sudanese economy suffers difficulties that fuel an urge for economic policy reforms, foreign direct investments as well as bigger fiscal endorsement.

Lebanon's Byblos Bank chief economist Nassib Ghobril suggested that "prior to the recent political developments, the economy of Sudan was facing substantial challenges."

Over the last ten years, the Sudanese economy struggled due to severe lack of foreign currency, restricted access to external financing, shortage in foreign banking cooperation and low oil transit receipts from South Sudan among other issues.
