USD774m waste-to-energy plants to be launched in Israel

(MENAFN) Israeli Ministry of Environmental Protection announced the country to be planning to construct waste-to-energy plants valued at USD774 million.

Facilities will be constructed across Israel to treat 1,000-1,500 tons of waste a day, the ministry confirmed in a statement issued on Monday.

Within Israel, the ministry noted, around 5.2 million tons of urban waste is generated per year with 1.8 percent as a yearly average raise.

However, 22 percent of the urban waste is moved for recycling while the remaining waste is buried in landfill positions.
