    Iraq, China hit USD30b in trade

    (MENAFN) Iraq and China are enjoying significant growth in their bilateral relations, as they closed in on USD30 billion in bilateral trade for 2018.

    Cooperation between Iraq and China is likely to enter the next stage within a range of fields and reinforced efforts for better ties.

    China's Ambassador to Iraq Zhang Tao confirmed that "the volume of trade exchange between the two countries is increasing every year by 10 percent, surpassing 30 billion dollars in the past year."

    According to the envoy, "China is considered the biggest trading partner of Iraq, and Iraq is the second biggest oil supplier to China, and the fourth biggest trading partner of China in the Middle East."

    Zhang added that Iraqi imports from China stood at USD7.9 per year, while delivering USD20 billion worth of crude oil to China a year.
