S. Sudan, S. Africa sign oil exploration, production pact
(MENAFN) South Sudan and South Africa sealed a deal to jointly explore and generate oil over a period of six years, allowing them to strengthen their economy.
Under the agreement, the two sides will be cooperating in stimulating and revitalizing the South Sudanese energy sector.
Strategic Fuel Fund will be overseeing the contract alongside Nile Petroleum Cooperation.
Petroleum Minister of South Sudan Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth stated "I congratulate the people of South Africa for deciding to come and invest in South Sudan."
Gatkuoth added "Investment in South Sudan will benefit both Juba and Johannesburg in various ways because this is people investment."
