Saudi Arabia posts USD7.4b budget surplus

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia achieved from January to March 2019 a budget surplus of USD7.4 billion to mark the first quarterly surplus in three years.

A Jadwa Investment report attributed the budget surplus to revenues exceeding spending during the first quarter.

Total budget deficit this year in Saudi Arabia, according to the report, is forecast to account for 4.2 percent of the GDP or USD34.9 billion.

However, the report expects that Saudi Arabia will no longer register a surplus until the end of this year.
