Jordan still waiting Libya's debt repayments

(MENAFN) Libya is yet to deliver a payment to Jordan for its debt to private hospitals, with the amount almost standing at USD350 million.

Head of the Jordanian Private Hospitals Association Fawzi Hammouri stressed that Libya "has been delaying the payments since 2013, continuously making promises to pay but not fulfilling them."

Under a deal sealed back in November 2018, the Libyan government was supposed to pay medical bills in 2019 at 30 private hospitals in Jordan through three phases.

Jordanian hospitals, as per the agreement, were set to be delivered USD125 million in December, USD62.5 million in February and another USD62.5 million in April.

Hammouri stressed "even after Chairperson of the Presidential Council of the Libyan Government of National Accord Fayez Al Sarraj pledged to settle the bills, we received nothing."
