    Egypt climbs to 5.6 percent in economic growth rate

    (MENAFN) Egyptian Minister of Planning Hala al-Saeed revealed the country to have to 5.4 percent in its economic growth rate during the third quarter of the fiscal year 2018-19.

    Compared to the 5.4 percent economic growth recorded in the last fiscal year, Egypt is witnessing strong performance.

    "Significant developments have been observed in several economic indicators, which showed the economic reforms in the country are moving on the right track," the minister stated.

    Meanwhile, public investments in Egypt registered a 19 percent jump to stand at USD18.07 billion during the period.

    Al-Saeed added "the unemployment rate decreased to 8.9 percent during the second quarter of fiscal year 2018-2019, compared with about 11.3 percent in the same period of the last year."
