    Morocco granted USD55m WB loan

(MENAFN) Morocco was announced to be receiving USD55 million in loans from the World Bank (WB) in support of its efforts to provide employment to young people in the country.

Under "Supporting the Economic Inclusion of Youth," Morocco is offering a creative method to train lower skilled young job seekers along with backing the capacity of entrepreneurs along with investments within local activities.

According to Le Matin daily, the youth employment program will establish "one-stop-centers" for career guidance and on-the-job training.

Maghreb Countries of the World Bank director Marie Francoise Marie-Nelly stated "youth unemployment remains an acute challenge for Morocco, and we are drawing on our global experience in supporting governments in their efforts to address it through innovative solutions."

Marie-Nelly added "the project is designed to address the specific conditions in the Marrakech-Safi region, but the intention is to build on this first experience to replicate an integrated and efficient model across the entire country."
