USD134m AfDB loan to be extended to Tunisia

(MENAFN) Tunisia will be receiving USD134 million of loans from the African Development Bank (AfDB), considered stage two of the Financial Sector Modernization Support Program (PAMSFI II).

Director of the AfDB bureau in North Africa Mohamed El Azizi confirmed that under the loan, Tunisia will be able to achieve significant economic growth while boosting the financial sector.

El Azizi affirmed that "with the PAMSFI II, we will consolidate the gains with over 389 million euros mobilized since 2016. It is a decisive step to modernize the financial sector in Tunisia."

AfDB is anticipating the program to enhance the level of financial inclusion in Tunisia along with bringing an optimistic outcome to categories of irregular profit and owners of developing small- and medium-sized enterprises.
