Israel's rail tender receives bids from 5 Chinese firms

(MENAFN) Israel is reviewing five China-based major firms specialized in infrastructure and construction for a project to establish a line in Tel Aviv's light rail network.

Those five Chinese giants delivered bids to win a tender the Metropolitan Mass Transit System (NTA) issued for the project.

Bids the companies made are estimated to reach USD419-559 million, even though the NTA failed to share the actual amount.

The tender involves the second "green" line, out of four lines that are planned to develop the light rail network of Tel Aviv and its suburbs.
