USD24.7m to reach S. Sudan for water project

(MENAFN) South Sudan was announced to be receiving USD24.7 million from the African Development Bank (AfDB) following the amount's approval.

Using the amount, South Sudan will work on a project to enhance water supply and sanitation in the country, as the AfDB explained.

Rehabilitation of roughly 50km of the Juba town distribution network and related efforts will result from the strategic water supply and sanitation project, AfDB affirmed.

Through the project, South Sudan will be able to develop the quality and delivery of urban water supply services in Juba along with reinforcing rural water supply and sanitation services, stated Bank country manager for South Sudan Benedict Kanu.

AfDB added: "on completion, the project will directly benefit 300,000 people in Juba and the surrounding rural Jubek state."
