Iran grants visa-free access to Chinese visitors

(MENAFN) People of China looking to spend a vacation or a good time in Iran will now be allowed to enter the Islamic Republic visa-free.

Eghtesadonline reported the Iranian government to have passed a visa-free policy for Chinese guests, given that last year, a 52.5 percent surge was registered in the number of Chinese tourism arrivals.

Deputy Head of Iran Cultural Heritage, Handcraft and Tourism OrganizationVali Teymouri explained that "as per the policy, Chinese tourists visiting Iran will no longer need to obtain visas."

This comes following an order that the Interior Ministry received from President Hassan Rouhani to waive visa-stamping or marking the passports of foreigners arriving in Iran.

By 2025, Iran has set a target to welcome 20 million foreign tourists per year.
