    Tunisia, Eni sign agreement for Algerian gas move

    (MENAFN) Tunisia and Italy's oil and gas giant Eni penned a deal on the extension of an agreement previously secured for Italy to received Algerian gas via Tunisian gas pipeline.

    Eni, under the ten-year contract, will be running the Tunisian pipeline using its subsidiary Trans Tunisian Pipeline Company.

    Industry Minister of Tunisia Slim Feriani stated: "about 5.25 percent of the gas transferred from Algeria to Italy will be used for Tunisia, amounting to about 174.21 million U.S. dollars annually."

    Italy's giant further emphasized its dedication to maintain equipment at a cost of around USD16 million over a ten-year period.
