    26.9 percent surge in Egyptian exports to Africa

    (MENAFN) Egypt exported USD4.7 billion worth of products to the African continent last year, marking a 26.9 percent boost on annual basis.

    According to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), Egyptian exports to African nations in 2017 stood at USD3.7 billion.

    Meanwhile, Egyptian imports from African states reached USD2.1 billion in 2018 to reflect a 15.2-percent surge, from USD1.9 billion a year earlier.

    CAPMAS affirmed that "Egypt's foreign trade with African states recorded 6.9 billion dollars in 2018 compared with 5.6 billion dollars in 2017, marking an increase of 23 percent."
