    Tourism income rises in Tunisia

    (MENAFN) In the first half of 2019, Tourism income in Tunisia increased by 42.5 percent, reaching to 684.6 million dollars next to 480.5 million dollars in 2018, as the Tunisian government said on Monday.

    According to a government statement, the tourism sector shows development in the number of tourists and profits.

    In comparison with the same period of 2018, the first half of 2019 recorded a rise of 16.7 percent in the number of tourists to get to around 3.8 million.

    22 percent of European tourists and 18.3 percent in the number of Maghreb tourists - Algerians, Moroccans, Libyans and Mauritanians, have increased according to the statement.

    Tunisia is looking for receiving 9 million tourists in 2019, over the 8 million of 2018, According to the tourism and handicrafts ministry.
