    Bitcoin trading now illegal in Iran

    (MENAFN) Iran's Supreme Council of Combating and Preventing Money Laundering imposed a ban on transactions with cryptocurrency Bitcoin.

    Deputy Governor for new technologies at the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Nasser Hakimi made the announcement while speaking to Tasnim news agency.

    Bitcoin trading, the central bank official stressed, is being done with obstacles related to law and investment.

    Cryptocurrency was also warned by the Iranian official to be the holder of a great scale of volatility.

    Hakimi further noted that the production of bitcoin in Iran is still not illegal.
