Iran, Brazil seek to keep bilateral trade afloat despite U.S sanctions

(MENAFN) Secretary of Iran-Brazil Chamber of Commerce emphasized that both nations are looking for ways to set up bartering systems in order to preserve their trade afloat during the sanctions era, ILNA reported.

Farhad Taherian informed ILNA, "Currently, Brazil is one of the main providers of agricultural commodities to the country, however we are facing some banking issues in our trade and that is why the two sides are looking at bartering as a solution to this problem".

Iran imports from Brazil just 12 main commodities, according to the official.

48 percent of the imports are corn, 24 percent is soy, while soybean oil, tobacco, and ethanol are other imported products.
