    Israel's gov't deficit more than doubles

    (MENAFN) From January to July, the Israeli government hit USD6.83 billion in its deficit to more than double compared to the same period in 2018.

    In a report, the Ministry of Finance confirmed that the Israeli government deficit stood at around 11 billion new shekels last year.

    Total Israeli government deficit, from August last year to July this year, reached 3.8 percent of the GDP to beat estimates of 3.6 percent.

    Statistics further revealed that the total government spending by July marked a 7.4 percent boost on annual basis to 227.1 billion new shekels.
