    Bahrain's actual deficit hits USD1.07b

(MENAFN) Bahrain beat forecasts to stand at USD1.07 billion in its actual deficit from January to June 2019, from the USD1.7 billion seen during the same period in 2018.

Massive cuts in budget deficit were revealed by the Bahraini Ministry of Finance and National Economy mid-year to allow for the figure to be reached.

Last year, Bahrain declared a plan to revive its indebted public finances following a USD10 billion pledge from GCC nations.

This year, the country is likely to be granted USD2.28 billion from the pledge after receiving USD2.3 billion last year.
