    15.01 percent boost in Turkish consumer prices

    (MENAFN) Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) revealed a 15.01 percent year-on-year jump in the country's consumer prices for last month.

    Meanwhile, this figure marked a decline compared to the 16.65 percent consumer prices surge posted in July 2019 to exceed forecasts.

    Annual inflation rate in Turkey was forecast to stand at 15.60 percent in August, as economists that Anadolu Agency polled suggested.

    TurkStat further added that "the highest annual increase was 41.42% in alcoholic beverages and tobacco."

    Statistics unveiled a 0.86 percent increase in the change in consumer price index in August compared to July's figures.
