    Budget deficit in Sudan hits USD335m

    (MENAFN) Sudan was announced to have stood at USD355 million in its budget deficit for the second quarter of 2019, reaching USD1.37 billion in revenues and locking USD1.37 billion in spending.

    From April to June 2019, economic growth in Sudan registered a 2.1 percent decline, as revealed Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning Dr. Abdul-Moneim al-Tayeb.

    The budget for this year underwent major issues including poor revenues, shortage in strategic products along with paying wages of workers, the official emphasized.

    Al-Tayeb further added that budget expenditures were directed towards strategic goods and wages along with tackling the liquidity crisis.
