1.7 percent boost in Turkish exports

(MENAFN) Turkish trade minister Ruhsar Pekcan declared the country to have achieved a 1.7 percent year-on-year surge in its exports last month to stand at USD13.2 billion.

However, Turkish imports in August 2019 registered a 0.27 percent decline, reaching USD15.5 billion compared to the same period a year earlier.

Foreign trade deficit in Turkey, the trade minister unveiled, hit USD2.4 billion to mark a 10 percent decrease on annual basis.

This comes in comparison to the 0.62 percent increase in foreign trade deficit the country posted August 2018 to lock USD28.7 billion.
