    Morocco to see surge in Chinese tourism arrivals

    (MENAFN) Moroccan Prime Minister Saad Eddine El Othmani confirmed that the country is expecting to achieve a surge in the number of Chinese tourism arrivals "in the future."

    Prime Minister El Othmani highlighted the escalated boost in the number of tourists from China since 2016, when Morocco unveiled visa waives for China.

    Last year, Morocco welcomed an overall of 180,000 Chinese guests compared to the annual average of less than 20,000 ahead of the visa exemption.

    El Othmani stated "the tourism cooperation between the two countries is of great significance and will enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples and lay a foundation for further strengthening bilateral relations."
