37.8 percent drop in Bahrain's deficit

(MENAFN) From January to June 2019, a 37.8 percent year-on-year decline was achieved in Bahrain's deficit while a 47 percent year-on-year surge was registered in non-oil revenues of the GCC nation.

Back in October last year, Bahrain commenced the Fiscal Balance Program which drove the achievement of the figures during the first half.

The program was launched as Bahrain seeks to witness a balance between government spending and revenues by 2022.

Finance ministers of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia and Kuwait hailed the results of the program during a meeting with Bahraini Finance Minister Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa.
