4-year record low in Egyptian annual inflation

(MENAFN) Egypt's Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed the country to have stood at 6.7 percent in the inflation of its annual urban consumer price last month.

CAPMAS unveiled the figure to be a significant decline compared to the 13.6 percent of annual inflation recorded in August 2018.

This figure is considered as a record-low, with Egypt's annual inflation hitting 7.9 percent during the same month in 2015.

Meanwhile, the annual inflation posted a 0.7 percent boost on monthly basis, the country's official statistics agency affirmed.

It further added that the country locked 11.5 percent in its inflation rate during the first eight months of this year.
